“And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse.” |Mark 5:25-26 NIV
This poor woman had been sick for a long time — 12 years! Not only that but things were only getting worse. She had tried so many things to change her situation but to no avail.
But something was different this day. She was sick and tired of being sick and tired. She no longer cared about anything else but getting to the One who could change her current situation.
“When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.””
|Mark 5:27-28 NKJV
This woman was suicidal. What she did in the above verse was deserving of death. She broke the customs of the day, she wasn’t suppose to be in the crowd. It was against the law for someone who was unclean to be amongst the people. But she didn’t let it stop her— not that day!
She broke-through the thronging crowd. She pushed through the uncertainty. She defied the religious laws and customs. She shattered her fears. She touched her Maker with her act of faith!
Blissful, what have you been dealing with in your life? How long has that problem been lingering? What have you been so afraid of? What has been holding you back? Are you tired of the excuses yet?
When you are really sick and tired of that situation it will change. When you are done with that weakness, you will see a new strength rise in you. When excuses will no longer suffice, you will see transformation.
Today, press through the crowd of doubt and fear. Push every excuse out of the way. Don’t let the intimidation stop you any longer. Receive the help of the Spirit to breakthrough.
Touch the Lord with your praise. Touch Him with your determination. Stop Him in His tracks with your faith. And hear Him say:
“…your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.””
