Your Origin Decides Your Destiny

“Yet to all who received Him, to all who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God. Children born not of natural descent nor of human decision, or a husband’s will, but born of God”.
~John 1 :12-13

The second reality of the New Creation that I’m dealing with in this series, is divine origin.

Now, it’s important that you understand the power of origin – that is, where you come from. Your origin is very important, because where you come from decides where you will return to. Actually your origin decides your destiny.

A good number of public speakers today usually teach that your future is not determined by your past. That is not entirely accurate because your future is decided by your past. This is why Jesus had to deal with our past first; because had He not changed our past, He would not have been able to change our future.

This is how God put it when He was placing a curse on Adam:

“ By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”
~Genesis 3:19

In other words, you will always return to where you came from; your origin decides your destiny.

Jesus’ words to His disciples as He was preparing them for His eventual departure from the earth illustrates this point even further:

I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”
~John 16:28

That is, you will always return to where you came from; your origin decides your destiny.

So your future is decided by your past. Your origin decides where you return to. Where you come from determines where you’ll go to.

For this reason, as I wrote in Your History Is Now A History Of Perfection, Jesus died on the cross to first of all give you a new past; a sinless past, in order that you can have a glorious hope and future.
