After recovery, remember those who fought and won with you. Be generous with your bounty as this ensures stability of your recovery and the fruits thereof.

In the text scripture, the men who went to battle didn’t want those who stayed back guarding the equipment to get a sizeable share of the bounty. But, King David said no and insisted everyone get a fair share because he knew every role was vital. He must have reasoned that if some men were left behind when the raid happened, they might have prevented their families from being captured. And on arrival home, gifts were also sent to the elders of Judah and friends of King David.
