Luke 17:17-19 KJV | “And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.”
On the bed of ingratitude you lose. But, when you mingle with the spirit of gratitude and delight yourself in being thankful to both God and the people in your life; you rise and experience full restoration.
Our Lord Jesus asked two simple questions when only one of the ten lepers cleansed came back to say thank you: “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?”
After asking about the nine, he told the only one who came back to say thank you, “Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.”
Is there a link between showing gratitude and receiving faith for permanent miracles?
Does God release His Word – the bedrock of faith; as there can be no faith except in direct response to God’s Word – and permanent blessings when you are thankful for what He has already done?
Could this also be the reason some of us are not receiving God’s Word freely and flowing effortlessly in His abundant grace?
Please share your thoughts…
Because, looking closely at Luke Chapter 17, we see God’s varied response to an ungrateful and grateful heart.
Luke 17:12-14 KJV | “And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.”
Here, in obedience to the first Word from Jesus, the ten lepers were cleansed.
Luke 17:17-19 KJV | “And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.”
And, in obedience to the second Word from Jesus declared to the ONLY one who came back to give thanks, his cleansing became permanent and he received divine health and wholeness.
The difference is clear. So, it may be time to ask and answer this pertinent question: Am I being grateful to God and the people who make my life possible?
If not, up your game today in the department of showing gratitude and being thankful.
Don’t replace saying ‘thank you’ and being grateful when someone helps and comforts you with ONLY ‘God will bless you’ as some religious folks do and tend to champion. You can do better by trying out both ways.
Not only does this keep your blessings flowing, more doors will begin to open for you.
Demonstrate your gratitude to God and the people in your life.
Receive this grace in Jesus name!
