Have you ever wondered why some folks hear the gospel or information about God and they are not moved at all? You hear the same thing with them, and while you are touched by the message and want to adjust your life to what you have heard, they treat the same word like it’s of no use to them.
As a young Christian, this used to bother me a lot. However, my perspective changed when I came across this word from Jesus:
John 6:65 | “… No one can come to me unless the Father has enabled him.”
You respond to God because He is the One drawing you to Himself. Without His help, you will be like that person who is not moved by the words of God. In fact, Apostle Paul puts it this way:
Philippians 2:13 NLT | “For God is working in you, giving you the desire to obey Him and the power to do what pleases Him.“
You respond to God because He makes it possible for you to do so. This is huge. Without His help, this life of bliss in Christ will be out of your reach. The peace and confidence that comes from knowing that God is yours and you are His, will not be your reality without His help. He is the One that makes it possible for you to daily come here to receive words of encouragement and hope.
The blessings of God that come your way are of inestimable value. You don’t get them from anywhere else apart from Him. No one can give them to you, if God has not desired that you have them.
Psalm 89:15 | “Blessed are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord.”
It’s such a joy to be enabled by God to seek Him. It is a treasure. You are blessed if you have that.
To have the Holy Spirit whisper in your heart, guide and protect you is an awesome reality. You are blessed and most to be envied.
Take time out today to appreciate the Holy Spirit for drawing you to Jesus. Tell Him in beautiful words how grateful you are. Show Him in your own way that you appreciate the work He does inside you. Tell Him clearly how much you appreciate His grace and help rendered to you everyday. You are blessed!
Psalm 144:15 | “Blessed are the people of whom this is true; blessed are the people whose God is the Lord.”
