You Are An Object Of God’s Mercy And Grace

A while ago in our Home Church, we were singing one of my favourite songs – ‘Reckless Love’, by Cory Asbury. Talking about the never-ending love of God for us, a line there says, ‘it chases me down, fights till I’m found, and leaves the ninety-nine.‘ The idea came from Jesus’ parable of the lost sheep.

The Pharisees had accused Jesus of welcoming and eating with sinners, so, He used the parable to teach them about the non-discriminatory nature of God’s love. We pondered the parable, but wondered why the ninety-nine would be abandoned. We winced at the thought of being in their shoes.

The Holy Spirit however, quickly reminded me that we are objects of God’s mercy and grace. God has chosen to show us mercy, because He’s prepared us for His glory. So, He’d give things and men in exchange for us. May your life indeed provoke and compel God’s mercy and grace!

Romans 9:15 | NLT “For God said to Moses, “I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.”
