In the previous post, I asked the question, ‘Why are You Here?’ Most folks on this planet have no idea why they are here, including God’s children.
When people think about ‘sent ones’ they tend to restrict the idea to gurus, prophets, and charismatic leaders. The truth, however, is that everyone in God’s world is sent from God. He sent you here. This is particularly so if you are in Christ.
What this means is that you have an assignment from the Father.
Jesus Christ is the perfect example in this matter. He knew that He was sent; but, beyond that, He regarded His mission as His food.
“My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.”
~ John 4:34
If you haven’t done so yet, you need to find out that for which God sent you into the world. Discover His assignment for you.
Maybe God sent you into this world to feed the hungry.
You know, people are facing all kinds of problems today, such as killer diseases. It could be that He sent you into this world to bring a certain solution to a certain problem.
God may have sent you into this world to enable the preaching of the Gospel; to make the atmosphere conducive for the preaching of the Gospel.
Maybe God sent you into this world to bring freedom; to bring liberty.
What I’m saying is this: You have an assignment from God to perform in this world. It with respect to that assignment that you should evaluate your success.
And if you don’t know what the assignment is, how will you be able to focus on it? And how will you be able to be diligent in it; how will you be able to know when it is completed?
When you know that this is the assignment that the Father sent you into this world to execute, you know what to focus on; then everything else becomes a distraction.
I know what my own personal assignment from the Father is: To deliver the Wildfire Message to the world. That’s my assignment. It’s very simple, and I’m focused on it.
What is your assignment?
