What Does Your Overflow Say?

Psalm 45:1 | “My heart overflows with a beautiful thought! I will recite a lovely poem to the king, for my tongue is like the pen of a ready writer.”

The psalmist is filled with a revelation of God that makes his heart bubble and boil. He almost cannot wait to share it. He compares his tongue to a pen that is ready to compose and release this revelation that he has received to others.

What noble theme about God is bubbling in your heart today? What about Him stirs your heart right now? Is your heart ready to burst its banks to spill out beauty and goodness to the Lord? Are you willing to shape those river-like inspiration into words, and pour it all out to Him?

As for me, the Lord is the very air that I breathe. He is the fire in me that keeps my lamp burning. He has turned the darkness in me into light. The love that we share is more delightful than wine and better than life itself. Him alone makes my life beautiful and complete. His pleasure will remain my treasure. I dare to say so.

Psalm 107:2 | “Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.”

Is there any ready writer in the house? Has the Lord been gracious to you in any way? Is there anyone whose heart is being set ablaze by the fire of God’s love? Then He wants you to say so. Celebrate your King! Bless His heart! Say something really beautiful from your heart to Him. He causes you to experience His salvation in untold ways, as you order your conversations aright, by bringing Him glory through praises.

And just in case you’re in want of what to say or praise Him for, I pray that you experience the glory of God’s goodness afresh, and that it overwhelms your heart, so that from its abundance, your tongue, like the pen of a ready writer, and your heart, will overflow with praises for Him!

Luke 6:45 | “For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.”
