Luke 10:42 NLT | “There’s only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Mary and Martha had genuine pressing needs in their house that day. Jesus had just visited them with His entourage of disciples. They needed to be thoroughly hosted. Martha was worried and upset that they hadn’t met up, so, it was a struggle sitting at the feet of Jesus in the midst of all the pressures.

But Mary had a different disposition and remained at Jesus’s feet. Amidst other factors, the missing link was Trust. There was a dimension of Jesus she knew. If you trust God completely, you won’t care. You will rather rest. Martha got distracted because she couldn’t trust Jesus to take care of their needs. Complete unwavering confident trust in God is what pleases Him. It is the only important thing. When we do, everything bows to us.

Lord, deliver us from distractions. Reveal Yourself to us. Help us to trust you unwaveringly.
