What A Waste! (3): You Are In Good Company

Matthew 26:7-8 | “When the disciples saw this, they were indignant. ‘Why this waste?’ they asked. ‘This perfume could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor.'”

It’s quite unfortunate that even the disciples of Jesus were angry at the sacrifice of this woman as seen in the above scripture. This shows that even other children of God can be agents of distraction and discouragement in following the Holy Spirit. The one who does not hear or see what you hear or see will be a stumbling block to you.

Beware of the logic of men! I remember when a Pastor heard of a particular sacrifice I made and he said to me, “What a waste!” In my mind, I laughed as I recalled this scripture and wondered to myself if the Pastor knew how much like Judas he sounded in that moment.(John 12:4-6)

If you have ever heard someone describe your obedience to the Holy Spirit as a waste, I want you to know that you are in good company. You are highly esteemed before the Lord to whom your life is a sweet smelling perfume. Bliss be with you.
