2 Corinthians 8:7 NIV
But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.
Grace means the help of the Holy Spirit. And there is the grace of giving. Meaning that the Holy Spirit Himself enables you to give:
- First, He gives you the heart to give.
- Then He gives you what to give.
- Then, He tells you what to give.
- And then, in spite of your situation, He makes you give.
We see this grace at work in the widow that gave all she had.
Mark 12:41-44 NIV
Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”
I see this same grace already at work among Blissful People. There’s no way we could give at the level we’re doing except by the help of the Holy Spirit Himself. We’re really not the ones giving. He is giving through us.
So, let’s acknowledge this grace at work among us. Let’s appreciate the Holy Spirit for the grace of giving He has poured out upon His Blissful People.
I’ve been in ministry now for a very long time. And, I can in all sincerity say that I’ve never seen this level of giving anywhere. It’s simply phenomenal.
You see, I read your prayer requests. I pray for you. I’ve met a lot of you in person. And I know quite a bit about what each person is going through.
So, when I look at the giving records, I’m simply blown away. Even people I never expected to give, I see them giving:
Someone making a very expensive trip with little or nothing ; People who don’t have jobs and are crying out to God for help with their bills—yet they give. Someone has barely started a business in a foreign land. Yet they give all their first business income.
It just blows my mind.
Furthermore, some of you have been using the terms ‘first fruits’ and even ‘tithes’ to describe what they’re giving. I know I’ve never taught those kinds of things here.
I actually asked the Holy Spirit, “Who is telling them to give these tithes and first fruits on Favour Fridays?”
With a smile He replied, “I am. Just receive them and pray for them, because I want to bless them so much, beyond their imaginations.”
So, I’m praying for all the gifts, offerings, tithes, and first fruits that you brought during the just concluded Favour Friday.
May the Holy Spirit Himself multiply them back to you a thousand times. May He increase you in every way. May He lift you to unimaginable heights of blessings and favours. May He make you a blessing to your world.
In Jesus Name.
