We Need Fresh Oil

The past few days has seen me burdened and praying for fresh oil; for a new anointing. We definitely need it. We can’t do without it.

You see, what has brought you this far, won’t be able to take you where you’re going. You need fresh oil. What has defeated previous challenges and difficulties, won’t be able to handle what lies ahead. You need fresh oil.

What has brought you to this level, won’t be able to take you to the next level. You need fresh oil. What has worked in previous phases, won’t be able to work in the next phase. You need fresh oil.

It’s time for fresh oil. For a new anointing. For another infilling if the Holy Spirit.

You know you need fresh oil when you can’t pray anymore; when you have no appetite for the scriptures. You know you need fresh oil when you have no zeal to fellowship with brethren; when you have no interest in serving the Lord.

You know you need fresh oil when you begin to doubt the word of God; when you begin to join the critics of the Lord and feel comfortable in their company.

You know you need fresh oil when you can no longer speak in tongues; when you’ve been speaking the same tongues for a long time; when the tongues in your mouth feel dry, stale, mechanical and powerless.

You know you need a fresh oil when there are no new songs burbling through your heart out of your mouth; when you find every little thing stressful; when you’ve lost your joy and peace.

When you’re easily irritated and deflated by the daily adversities of life; when you’re irritable, anxious and overwhelmed, then you need fresh oil.

Blissful People, it’s time for fresh oil. Join me in this prayer:

Oh Lord, pour out a fresh oil upon us and fill us afresh with Your new anointing. In Jesus name!
