Joseph demonstrated an excellent understanding of God’s purpose for his life. This is another powerful secret to his phenomenal rise to greatness. He understood what his life was about – who sent him, and what he was sent for.
"And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you." (Genesis 45:5).
"You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives." (Genesis 50:20).
This kind of insight is very essential to success in life.
When you have this kind of insight you can easily profit from everything that life throws at you; you become a gifted, skillful, and smart partner with God in shaping your destiny.
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28).
However, in working for your good God needs your cooperation. He needs you to not frustrate Him. We are co-laborers with him and must therefore act in sync with Him in order to enjoy success that is independent of circumstances.
This kind of harmonious syncing can only result from the understanding of His purpose plus our mission. Otherwise, we will become frustrated and experience untold delays.
