True Riches 1: Go For True Riches

Philippians 3:8 NIV | “What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ.”

True riches are those experiences and values we gain in our walk with the Holy Spirit, as a result of our surrender and fusion with Him. His presence and voice is key. It’s not about material possession. Abraham for example, in addition to being very wealthy, was said to be rich in faith – in revelation.

Jesus’ disciples, under the power of the Holy Spirit, raised believers who no had attachment to their earthly possessions. They wilfully sold and surrendered their valuables at the apostles’ feet. The same disciples who received these fortunes however, said, “silver and gold we have not.” They had no regard for the material blessings. They rather focused on the true riches they had – the power of God.

May God open our eyes to what truly matters, and grace us to give up the life we have now, for the life that we can actually have. May we go for true riches!
