Transfer Faith, Not Fear (1)

LUKE‬ ‭1:20‬ ‭NIV‬‬ | “…AND NOW YOU WILL BE SILENT AND NOT ABLE TO SPEAK UNTIL THE DAY THIS HAPPENS, BECAUSE YOU DID NOT BELIEVE MY WORDS, WHICH WILL COME TRUE AT THEIR APPOINTED TIME.””

When Angel Gabriel told Zechariah he would have a child in his old age, he doubted and was only able to speak after the promise was fulfilled. Fast forward many years later, his son, John The Baptist doubted the Lord and passed it on to his followers by sending them to ask Jesus, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?’” (Luke‬ ‭7:20‬ ‭NIV‬‬) He was afterwards cursed by Jesus and beheaded in the most unassuming way. (Matthew 14:8-12 NIV)

Could it be that the doubt in Zechariah was transferred to his son? Was there a way of life in Zechariah’s life and home that enabled fear and doubt thrive and be transferred from generation to generation?

It’s something to ponder on and as you do, commit to building faith and transferring it to your spiritual and biological offsprings. Receive this grace. Bliss be with you.
