Thy Kingdom Come, O Lord!

Matthew 11:12 CEV | “From the time of John the Baptist until now, violent people have been trying to take over the kingdom of heaven by force.”

KJV says “the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.” We had thought this scripture was a license to aggressively lay claim on our desires. The Spirit, however, has guided us into the truth of the word. John the Baptist violently and forcefully laid hold of the kingdom of God. He refused to cede control to Christ when Christ eventually came on the scene. He continued to baptise because of the effects and glory of His minstry. “There was plenty water and many people were coming to him to be baptised.” (John 3:23)

Similarly, Lucifer, the mastermind of organised religion, has seized control. Till now, him and forceful men have laid hold of the kingdom of God and refused to let the Holy Spirit have Her way, by organising and controlling the worship of God. Contrary to their pattern, true worship cannot be organised. Like the wind, the Spirit’s modus operandi changes.

May Your Kingdom come, oh Lord! May Your perfect will be done on earth, as it is in heaven!
