Throw Off That Sin That Easily Entangles

“No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.”
~1 John 3:9

Those who are born of God receive God’s nature and His gift of righteousness, but they have to always walk in this righteousness that comes from God. If you are born of God, every time you avoid sin, you’re pursuing righteousness.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”
~Hebrews 12: 1

Folks are watching you; God is watching you; the angels are watching you; the old saints that have gone to heaven are watching you; the world is watching you. Throw off everything that hinders you. Get rid of anything that hinders your prayer, or that hinders you from serving God.

I’ve found out that whenever somebody who is called into ministry doesn’t want to answer, the problem is usually sin. If it’s a young person, it’s probably the sin of lust and immorality. Whenever you see a Christian who is not doing well in the house of God, who is not doing well in their walk with God, it is sin that is responsible. If it’s a young person, it’s probably a lustful relationship. If you are relating with unbelievers in the name of dating, you had better stop. You can’t hang out with sin, and expect to be pure; you can’t. Stop messing up your life.

Memory Verse:
Timothy 2: 22
“Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call in the name of the Lord out of a pure heart.”

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your instruction to me today. Help me, Father, to flee from sin and evil desires. Give me an understanding of the true value of righteousness; and strengthen me daily to earnestly pursue it, in Jesus’ mighty name.
