Long before you existed in your mother’s womb; long before you knew who He was; long before you did a single act of good—God loved you.
And while you were still wallowing in your sins, He demonstrated His eternal love for you, by giving His only begotten Son to die for you on the cross.
Romans 5:8 NLT
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
His love for you is strong, unyielding, unwavering. His love for you does not hold back or withhold any good thing from you. And, just as He demonstrated in Christ Jesus on the Cross, His love gives all.
When you look at God’s Son hanging and bleeding on that cross, you’re looking at the love of God for you. He went to that cross for you. He bled and died on that cross for you. Jesus Christ, dead on the cross, is the complete demonstration of God’s love for you.
Have you received this love yet? Have you made this love yours? Have you experienced this love? Are you enjoying this love?
Because, your most important response to God’s love is not to try to love Him back. Not at all. Rather, it’s to receive it, experience it, and enjoy it. Then you can have power to reciprocate it.
The Holy Spirit Himself asked me to that. So, let me repeat it with greater emphasis:
Your most important response to God’s love is to receive it, experience it, and enjoy it. Only then will you truly have the power to reciprocate it.
He loved you while you were still His enemy in your sins. So you did not earn this love. And you cannot earn it.
God’s love for you is beyond human understanding. But, through the power of the Holy Spirit, you can experience this love in your own life.
Ephesians 3:18-19 NLT
[18] And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. [19] May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
