The Wildfire 8-Step Spiritual Renewal Procedure

Oh what peace we often forfeit
Oh what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer

There’s so much tension, worries, and anxieties in today’s world. It is a curse that has wrecked lives and ruined relationships. People are just so stressed up, running up and down, trying to solve one problem after another. Yet, when you sit down to take stock of the outcome of all the struggles, it really doesn’t come to much.

Jesus warned that worries and anxieties won’t get you very far:

"Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"
~Matthew 6:27

He taught us to learn from the birds and the flowers:

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?"
~Matthew 6:26

What is their secret? Trust in God. And what is the key to that? Waiting upon the Lord.

Pastor_WD_Favour_praying2If you will learn and master the secret of waiting on the Lord, everything will ultimately come to you without much stress. Let me show you a personally tested and proven spiritual mechanism for waiting upon the Lord and developing your trust in Him. It is The Wildfire 8-Step Spiritual Renewal Procedure.

#1. Dedicate your PHD.

Resolutely set apart one day that you will be cut off from modern civilization. PHD – Personal Holy Day.

"Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked."
~Psalms 84:10

On this day, let there be no human contact, in person, or via phone and any other media.

#2. Choose your PHD Bible Book

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
~2 Timothy 3:16-17

Determine ahead of time the particular book of the bible you have to focus on. You do not have to finish it, though. Any book of the bible will do, as long as you can understand it. For instance, you could decide on your PHD to study the book of, say, Ephesians. Decide on which book it will be ahead of time.

#3. Designate your Holy Mountain

"Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed."
~ Mark 1:35

"But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
~Matthew 6:6

Like our Lord Jesus Christ models for us in the above verses, choose a quiet place – house, church, etc. – where you can spend an entire day in uninterrupted quietness.

#4. Notify those concerned ahead of time

You will be disconnected from civilization and human society for an entire day. A lot of people connected to you might be affected by this one way or another. Those concerned should be given sufficient notice to prepare. Also try not to leave any unfinished business that might create unnecessary hard feelings and conflict.

"Do not allow what you consider good to be spoken of as evil."
~Romans 14:16

#5. Isolate yourself on your PHD

"But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
~Matthew 6:6

Go away by yourself to your designated Holy Mountain, taking only your bible and at least two 50 cl bottles of water. Leave your cell phone at home! No calls. No emails. No contact with anyone but God.

#6. Focus on God and His word

"But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night."
~Psalms 1:2

It is very important that you firmly resist the urge to request for material things. Focus rather on building up your spirit and strengthening your relationship to God. The most important you could do on your PHD is read your bible. Whenever you are reading your bible, you are fellowshipping with God, because God and His word are one.At your designated Holy Mountain, read your bible portions. Reflect on what you are reading. Take notes.

Also, on your PHD, you might feel like sleeping; that’s ok. Sleep. This will be a very refreshing sleep, unlike any you’ve ever had for a while.

Finally, do not forget to drink plenty of water.

#7. Compile your insights

"But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart."
~Luke 2:19

At the end of PHD, before you go home, compile the insights you noted from the scriptures. Do the same with all the various inspired thoughts you documented.

#8. Reflect continuously on your journal

Before you go to bed that night, prayerfully reflect on that journal again and again. Repeat this for the rest of the month.
