There is something unique and advantageous about being the first. In the bible, for instance, God reserved the first for himself. He said that the first person to come out from the womb should be reserved for him. In addition, the first things you get in life are reserved for God. God reserves the first for himself.
“Consecrate to me every firstborn male. The first offspring of every womb among the Israelites belongs to me, whether man or animal.”
~Exodus 13:2
Why does God like the first?
Why did God choose the first?
The answer is what I refer to as the Mystery of the First. You will come to appreciate why you must not just do things, but be the first to do them. To attain success in life, aim at being first in everything you do. As a matter of fact, God actually says to us, his children, that we must be the first and not the last. Stop being last in your life!
There’s something about being the first. Even in the world, it is recognized in marketing as the law of leadership. According to them, “being first in the market is better than having a better product than the competition.” In other words, it’s not just enough to have the best product, it’s important that you get into the market first. This is so crucial to the success of your product.
I studied this particular law while pondering on this mystery of the first. Something the writer said in the material I read, struck me. He said that ‘being first gives one extremely powerful advantages over the competition…it’s very hard to overtake early leaders and usually requires them to make huge mistakes.”
In other words, the first product to hit the market gains the ‘birthright’ as far as that business is concerned. This is why smart companies try to enter the market first. Because then they invoke the spiritual forces of ‘birthright’ in that business.
And God specifically says, “you will be the first and not the last.”
