The Mystery Of Abundance

Luke 4:16-19 NIV
[16] He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, [17] and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written: [18] “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, [19] to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

In the scripture above, Jesus addresses Himself to four groups of people: the poor, the prisoners, the blind, and the oppressed.

To each one He declared His solution to their condition. Notice that every solution logically matched the problem except one:

Poverty.

Freedom is a logical solution for the bondage of prisoners.
Recovery of sight is a logical solution for the blindness of the blind.
Setting free is a logical solution for oppression of the oppressed.

Now, cash should have been the logical solution for the poverty of the poor. I would have said wealth or cash for the poor. That would have made more sense.

Instead He says, good news for the poor.

Good news here, of course, is not referring to the chaffy doctrines of manmade churchianity. Absolutely not!

Good news here rather refers to the living word of God.

And good news is received in the soul, not the pocket.

Let that sink in.

Because, what Jesus is revealing here is that It’s not what happens in your pocket that breaks the backbone of poverty in your life, it’s what happens in your soul; in your mind. This is the mystery of abundance.

That is, receiving money into your pocket will not destroy poverty. No matter how big.

To break the backbone of poverty in any life, family or nation, what you need is not cash. What you need is good news: that is, the light of God penetrating the soul, renewing the mind and transforming that soul into a prosperous soul.

The entrance of this light from the Source of life is extremely powerful. It’s a revelation; an awareness. Gradually you see yourself like the ocean; infinite and inexhaustible.

This light and awareness breaks that fear of lack that makes people cling to things. You suddenly realize that all things are yours. That you’re one with God and His inexhaustible riches. That you are already blessed and prosperous.

Can you even start to imagine what this can do to you?

And the moment this awareness hits you, your soul is transformed into a liberal soul: a blessed, prosperous soul; because that word liberal actually means blessed or prosperous.

This soul prosperity in turn makes you fat—that is, releases the anointing. This anointing flows into your mind and starts to saturate, enlighten and empower you with the riches of eternal wisdom, grace, discernment, courage and everything that manifests your soul abundance in the natural realm.

Proverbs 11:25 KJVS
The liberal (that is, blessed or prosperous) soul shall be made fat (anointed with oil): and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

And as a result this oil on your prosperous soul, overflow begins to happen; manifesting in giving to God and man; in being a blessing.

Psalm 23:5 NIV
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
