Seeing the cross (suffering) of Christ as a glorious lifting, which is a sign of growing up in Christ, is actually the work of the Holy Spirit. No one can do it by themselves. It was through the Eternal Spirit that Jesus Christ Himself gave up His life for God.

Hebrews 9:14 NIV | “How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who THROUGH THE ETERNAL SPIRIT offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!”

Without the Holy Spirit, we would never be able to present our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God. He’s the One at work in us, giving us the desire and power to do what pleases Him. Let’s therefore call upon Him for help.

Precious Holy Spirit. We need You now more than ever before. We want to live to please You alone. You are our light and our very life. Cause us to be filled afresh today with your love and your power, that we might be aligned to your mind and your ways.
