The Magnetism of Results and Achievements

There is nothing wrong with trying to impress and influence others. In fact, you have to do so if you want to achieve your own personal success. The support, admiration, friendship, and loyalty of people is a vital asset to personal success. So there’s nothing wrong with trying to impress and influence other people. What matters, though, is how you go about it.

You might wish to impress and influence others with mere words, trying so hard to be nice and courteous to everyone, doing all you can to please everyone, bending over and stooping so low to people, all in a bid to impress. I assure you that this approach is a silly mistake!

Ultimately, if you follow the above line of behavior, you’ll merely cheapen yourself, become everybody’s doormat, wear yourself out, and in the end you’ll still be despised and dumped by the very people you were trying so hard to impress.

There is, however, a better way to go about the business of making a positive and beneficial impression on others, and that is, use results and achievements!

Results and achievements

Seek first the kingdom of results and achievements, and every other person will be impressed and influenced by you one way or the other!

Even God is not impressed by mere words.
This is why religion tends to produce lots of paupers and failures. I’ve met a lot of religious folks who complain about how God doesn’t seem to answer any of their endless prayers. They think God is impressed by religious rituals and meaningless chants. In reality, God is impressed more by results and achievements, than empty words!

~He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit…~ John 15:2a

When you interpret the above verse in ‘Christianese’ (my way of referring to fundamental Christian worldviews, concepts, interpretations), it means that any Christian that bears no fruit will be cut off. I personally understand that phrase to mean that God values results and achievements more than mere religious gibberish. Fruitless, and unproductive individuals make little impression upon the universe.

The following verse says it all:

~For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. ~ 1 Corinthians 4:20

God is simply not impressed by mere talk.
Faith without works – results and achievements – is dead!

Your friends and relatives, too are not impressed by mere words.
You will lose even the loyalty, respect, and admiration of friends and relatives if you lack results and continue to rely on empty words.

I know we all desire to have individuals who appreciate and respect us regardless of whether or not we are productive and achieving. Indeed, it’s a great blessing and privilege to have such people in your life. They are rare, anyway, and I’ll rather be in control of the factors that determine people’s response and attitude towards me.

If you value people’s respect, loyalty, and friendship – and you should, if you understand the critical nature of such intangible assets with respect to success – you must get the law of cause and effect to work in your favor.
A physical law states that action and reaction are equal and opposite. In other words, certain actions produce certain reactions.
The respect, loyalty, and friendship of others can actually be determined by your own actions – and you should understand what these actions are and execute them.

If you ignore this pragmatic appreciation of the way human relational dynamics operate, you’ll simply place yourself in a position of great disadvantage, frustration, disappointments, and unnecessary hurts and betrayals.

A wise man observed an unfortunate, but nevertheless true fact of human nature:

~ Wealth brings many friends, but a poor man’s friend deserts him…A poor man is shunned by all his relatives – how much more do his friends avoid him! Though he pursues them with pleading, they are nowhere to be found. ~ Proverbs 19:4,7

An old adage says that ‘actions speak louder than words.’ So, it’s better to take control over the factors that determine peoples reactions and responses towards you, then use it to create the quality of intangible assets that you need.

Please, understand that people’s reactions towards you have more to do with your results and achievements, than their own inner feelings of affection for you. If you ignore the creation of personal success and achievements and get carried away by people’s adulations, you’ll soon find yourself face to face with their disdain!

Not so long ago, former president George W Bush had very fantastic approval ratings in USA. It’s rather interesting to me that the Americans couldn’t even hide their relief at his exit! I hope the current occupant of the White House is aware of the fact that human affection is a fickle thing; human opinion is unfortunately plastic and changes like the weather.

My advice to you is simple: seek first the kingdom of results and achievements, and every other person will be impressed by you, one way or the other.

Results and achievements are very magnetic and attractive

If your life lacks positive manifestations, you wouldn’t be quite attractive. No manifestations, no attractions!
If you lack results and achievements, you would have little or no influence and followership.
People follow manifestations, results, and achievements.

Most of the things people struggle for without getting, will come to you if you concentrate more on achieving positive results and manifestations, than on trying to please everybody!

There are 6 powerful dimensions of wealth attracted to you when you have results and achievements. David’s life illustrates the magnetism of achievements.

First of all, achieve!…

~ So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him. ~ 1 Samuel 17:50

What an achievement! What a result!

Now, observe the results.

…and you’ll attract the 6 powerful dimensions of wealth

As a result of Davids undeniable achievement in killing a giant, he began to attract forces of wealth to himself. The so called law of attraction works more for individuals who possess evidence of success. The more you can manifest success, the more you can attract it. I wrote about this in my post, The More You Succeed, The More You Succeed!

By killing the giant, David began to attract powerful wealth forces to himself.

#1 Friends in high places.

The first thing that David attracted to himself as a result of his phenomenal achievement was the friendship of the men that mattered in the nation.

~ After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan (the king’s son) became one in spirit with David (a mere shepherd boy), and he loved him as himself. ~ 1 Samuel 18:3

What was the attraction here? What drew the king, the commander of the army, and the king’s son, to seek the friendship of David? It was his result and achievement!

Great men and women – and this includes God – find achievers irresistible.
The best way to get the attention and support of great men and women is through personal success results and achievements – not through empty words.

#2 Gifts and resources

The second thing that David attracted after his phenomenal feat in killing the giant, were gifts and resources.

~ Jonathan took off the robe he was wearing and gave it to David, along with his tunic, and even his sword, his bow and his belt. ~ 1 Samuel 18:5

You see, success attracts more success! When you manifest positive achievements, gifts and resources are drawn to you. In the parable of the talents told by Jesus to His disciples, the master asked the servants to take the talent of the unproductive servant and give it to the one who already had ten. When they reminded him that the guy already had ten, he said, “To him that has, more will be given”

I have observed repeatedly that people tend to give more support and resources to men and women of undeniable, visible ,and tangible results and achievements. I think this is unfair, but my advice to you is not to complain about this unfairness. Simply begin to create your own magnetism by manifesting results and achievements in your own life.

#3 More opportunities for personal advancement.

The third aspect of wealth that David attracted as a consequence of his phenomenal victory over the giant were greater opportunities for personal advancement.

~ Whatever Saul sent him to do, David did it so successfully that Saul gave him a high rank in the army. This pleased all the people, and Saul’s officers as well. ~ 1 Samuel 18:5

Challenging responsibilities are vital to self improvement and personal development which in turn lead to personal advancement and success. Opportunities for success, greater results, and achievements are attracted to men and women of undeniable positive manifestations.

Succeed, and greater opportunities for greater success will be attracted to you.

#4 Recognition and Promotion

From the verse we quoted above, also observe that David got promoted from being a mere shepherd boy, to a high rank in the army. The best way to get recognition and promotion is not by mere talk, or putting other people down; it is by gaining more results and achievements.

#5 The respect of people

Results command respect. It is clear from the above verse of scripture that David earned the respect of his fellow men as a result of his accomplishments, results, and achievements.

Don’t complain when people disrespect or put you down. Don’t even feel bad about it.
You gave room for this to happen either as a result of your being too familiar with them, too common, cheap, or un-achieving.

Don’t worry about this situation. Don’t try to correct it by pleading or talking.
You can earn all the respect you need if you stop dancing around people and focus more on manifesting enviable results and achievements.

#6 Popularity

~ But all Israel loved David, because he led them in their campaigns. ~ 1 Samuel 18:16

Did you observe that the love of the masses was due to something that David achieved? As a result of his achievements, David attracted popularity. People love, admire, follow, and celebrate achievers, not talkatives!

You really don’t need to try to be popular with everyone. You don’t have to punish yourself just to be nice to everyone and get them to like you. That’s absolutely silly and idiotic!

Simply mind your dreams and business. Focus on achieving your ultimate mission for being on this planet. If you begin to achieve results along the direction of your life’s highest purposes, you’ll be the one fleeing from people!

The other side…

Here’s a little warning for your consideration:

Results and achievements also attract envy and jealousy!
Success draws fire.

David didn’t just attract all of the beautiful and positive wealth forces listed above, he also attracted the envy and jealousy of the king.

Be warned as you begin to create results and achievements, that not everyone will celebrate with you. Some very insecure people around you will most assuredly become jealous and envious and will do all within their power to run you down. This is why every achiever needs to be wise and cautious.

I always counsel people to move away from those who get envious at their achievements, even if they are cloaked in the garb of friendship. Just move away from such people.
Also stay strongly connected to God and ensure that His distinguishing presence abides continually with you.

A few questions for you.

  1. What great results and achievements are you bent on achieving this year?
  2. Are you concentrating your energy and other resources on achieving, or on trying impress people with words?

Achievement, personal success, success, results
