Reflect on this visual: A man that was crippled from birth. I’m sure you will be able to see the following five facts of his situation:
1. His condition is not his fault. He was born that way. It is his natural state. It may not be normal, but it is his own natural—and it is definitely not his fault.
2. He sees others walk. He lives in a world where most people are different from him. He observes what they are doing.
3. He knows how to walk. Those that can walk take it for granted, and are too busy walking to even think of how to walk. The crippled man, on the other hand, spends a great deal of time not walking; a great deal of time wishing he could walk; wondering what it would be like—so, he observes the act of walking much more than those that walk. I’m pretty certain he could give a profound lecture on the subject of ‘How To Walk’.
4. He may have tried to walk. Maybe not publicly; but at sometime he may have tried to see if he could alter his reality.
5. He can’t walk.
The visual above captures the facts of most negative realities:
Innocence is not enough to stay out of trouble. The man that was born crippled became that way before he ever made any decisions.
Desire is not enough. It’s just not enough to want to.
Powers of observation will not do. Being able to observe how others are doing it is neither here nor there.
Know-how does not help either. In situations like this, it’s not enough to know how to.
Hardwork falls short too. A lot of times, its simply not enough to make the effort to.
In the life of the crippled man, innocence, desire, power of observation, know-how, and hardwork are all trumped by one fundamental reality: he is crippled. So he is unable to apply all he knows regarding how to walk.
Sometimes, we fail to realize that it’s possible to know, yet be unable to apply what you know. This is the limitation of information: he knows what to do; he knows exactly how to do it; but, because he is crippled, he is unable to implement his know-how.
To walk normally, this man would need a miracle. He would need supernatural help. He would need the help of God. Isn’t it interesting how sometimes you need a miracle to do what other people can do naturally?
Now, enough of the analogy. This is about you.
Do you find yourself in a situation somewhat like that of a crippled man? You know what to do, you know exactly how to do it, you have tried time and time again to do it; but you just can’t; your knowledge fails you. So, in spite of all that you know, your life is still such a mess.
Have you been suffering as a result of some things that went wrong in your life? From things you were born with? From satanic attacks and wrong choices?
Have you been fighting secret battles, and losing in them?
Right now, your life may be full of so much regrets and pains. You may have made so much poor choices in the past that now torment you. You feel so helpless and have given up.
I hear this clearly from The Lord in my heart: help is here!
Your Maker and your God will help you. He will remake you. And you will rise to the heights He planned for your life.
This prayer is for you:
1 May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
2 May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.
~ Psalm 20
The good news as you read is this: The Lord has sent you help from the sanctuary, and granted you support from Zion.
Yes. Help is here!
38 Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon. Now Simon’s mother- in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her. 39 So he bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them.
~ Luke 4:38,39
Weep no more. Jesus Christ is bending over you right now. He rebukes that condition right now. Behold, it leaves you! You will arise today—and in this season of your life— to wait on the Lord, and to fulfill His assignment for your life.
Grace, wisdom and strength has been released on you now. Receive it. The Lord has seen your helplessness and has stepped in to help you. He extends His mercies to you right now.
Lift up your hands and worship Him.
