I write today’s post in the hope that it will encourage those who walk the same path. The Holy Spirit put it in my heart that it was time for our home church to start meeting at the place He had chosen for us. I had already bought some of the things needed for the move, but there was still more left and I had run out of funds. Physically, things looked bleak, yet I knew by the Spirit that it was time to move.
Because I didn’t have more resources to complete the move, I was forced to look up to the Holy Spirit totally for His help. From the blues, prophecy came from another Blissful in our meeting that it was time to move, and also that the Lord will provide through His people. I just watched in amazement, because I wasn’t ready to manipulate people to give. The very next day after the word came, I was told that the resources were ready and we could move.
Philippians 4:12 NET | “I have experienced times of need and times of abundance. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of contentment, whether I go satisfied or hungry, have plenty or nothing.”
As I meditated on the experience, I asked myself, “Would this have happened if I personally had the complete resources for the move?” And for the first time in my life, I genuinely told the Holy Spirit “I don’t want millions in my bank account, I only want you.” Because I won’t trade the encouragement I got from watching God’s people give unsolicitedly for anything in the world. I finally understood what Apostle Paul meant by the secret of contentment. The secret of contentment is the Holy Spirit. He can provide for me by giving me money or by using uncommon solutions when I don’t have the money. And I love any method He chooses to use. I prefer the doings of the Holy Spirit — whether through abundance or through lack. Bliss be with you.
