God’s word tells us that the righteous are always generous and they lend freely. The righteous are not tightfisted, and so they enjoy the blessings of giving.
“I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. They are always generous, and lend freely; their children will be blessed.”
~Psalm 18:25-26
It is rare to find an individual who is always generous and who at the same time lives in poverty. It is difficult to find someone who is openhanded, lends freely always, and who lives in lack. Distressingly, what we have in the house of God today are a bunch of stingy, self-centered people. Today’s message is not for those who are outside the Christian fold; unfortunately, it is actually for God’s people. This message is for God’s children, because a lot of us are very selfish and tightfisted. Most of us are just stinginess personified.
The bible says that the righteous are always generous, thus they enjoy the blessings that come from giving generously to God. God’s word declares that their children will be blessed.
The truth is that the blessings of giving are not just financial. As a matter of fact the true blessings of giving are those things money cannot buy. God gives you things that you can’t buy with money: You can’t buy godly children with money. You can’t buy a peaceful home with money. You can’t buy people’s love with money. You can’t buy people’s sincere affection and loyalty with money.
There are some many things you can’t just buy with money. And these are the blessings of giving that attend the generous.
Memory Verse:

Heavenly Father, deliver me from selfishness and self-centeredness. Cause me to be generous and lend freely at all times, in Jesus’ name.
