The Antidote For Envy

“A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.
~ Proverbs 14:30

Don’t let envy rot your bone.  Don’t let it happen, because God can’t reach you anymore if you allow envy to enter your heart.

You notice, even in businesses, that when people get envious of another person, their businesses begin to go down. Everything about them begins to nose dive. Their marriages begin to scatter; their lives become a bundle of frustration and misery. It doesn’t have to happen to you.  You need to keep flying and soaring.

Let me give you one simple antidote to envy – that is, how to guard against envy, because everyone is susceptible to envy. You are not too holy for it. The reason that you are not yet crippled is because you didn’t allow it to take root in your life; you found a way to kick it out. The antidote for envy is found in the book of Romans:

“Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.”
~ Romans 12:15

Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. This is how to guard your heart from anything deleterious. Whenever you see someone succeeding, sincerely rejoice with him. Learn to celebrate other peoples’ successes and progress. It’s a key to peace of mind; it’s a key to happiness; it’s a key to health; and it’s a key to your own progress and success. Because God looks at you and says, “Oh, you like this thing happening to Emma. Okay, angels give it to him.”

So, always rejoice with others in their successes.

Memory Verse:
Romans 12:15
“Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.”

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I choose today to rejoice with others when they are successful. Please strengthen my resolve, in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
