MATTHEW 6:12 NLT | “…AND FORGIVE US OUR SINS, AS WE HAVE FORGIVEN THOSE WHO SIN AGAINST US.”
Peter asked Jesus this question; “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.” (Matthew 18:21-22 NIV)
Let’s put this in perspective. You are to forgive your brother who offends you at least seventy-seven times. In other words, you are not permitted to not forgive your brother no matter the offence and how many times it has occurred. My humanity was prone to not letting go and keeping record of wrongs until I found out it hinders prayers and intimacy with the Holy Spirit. I began seriously crying out for help and I’m in a better place today.
Don’t let anyone or anything stop or hold you back. Receive grace to forgive every time and may the power to live in complete purity of heart rest on us mightily in Jesus name. Amen!
