All That The Father Gives You
To develop and express the life of God within you, fulfill your mission, and complete your journey here and hereafter, you need your own true family—Fellow consecrated ones chosen and joined with you by God before time, designed by Him to be your journey-mates through this region of time and space, and equipped to be your co-fruiters in His will.
In this message, you will see four important things about your own true family. You will also be inspired to trust God to give and draw your own true family to you, rather than resorting to coercion, gimmickry and manipulation to persuade people to join you.
Consecration does not necessarily imply companionless
A lot of consecrated ones struggle with being open to other people. This is due to a misconception of consecration that often leads many of us to equate consecration with aloneness. I’ve personally wrestled with this issue most of my life. Consecrated ones tend to be lone rangers more or less; quite introverted by nature and inclination—making the allure of aloneness very strong.
However, you must once and for all come to terms with this truth: consecration does not necessarily imply companionless. Aloneness does not fit into God’s pattern for your life as you can see in the following scriptures.
18 The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
~ Genesis 2:18
6 God sets the lonely in families, he leads forth the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
~ Psalm 68:6
9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:
~ Ecclesiastes 4:9
Clearly, without your own true family, you will be unable to fulfill the call of God in your life. However—and this is one of the most important points in this message— membership in this family I describe here must not be open to everyone. Not everyone belongs in it.
4 important things about your own true family
I’d like you to ponder the following already stated definition of your own true family.
Your own true family refers to your most intimate circle: Fellow consecrated ones chosen and joined with you by God before time, designed by Him to be your journey-mates through this region of time and space, and equipped to be your co-fruiters in His will.
- They are fellow consecrated ones.
- They are chosen and joined with you by God before time.
- They are designed by God to be your journey-mates through this region of time and space.
- They are equipped to be your co-fruiters in God’s will.
Jesus Christ wraps it up in a wonderfully succinct, but complete, way:
37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.
~John 6:37
Essentially, they are given by God and come from Him.
How to draw them
How do you attract and draw them into your intimate circle?
Jesus Christ Himself, our perfect model, had this to say about His own true family:
37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. 44 “No-one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. 45 It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me.
~ John 6:37,44,45
Essentially, Jesus trusted His Father to give and draw His own true family to Him.
You should do the same.
You would be making a very fatal mistake if you attempt to lure people into your intimate circle without sound spiritual witness that they were given and drawn to you by God. In spiritual matters, there are no provisions for gray areas. Things are either black, or white; yes or no; from God or from Satan. For instance, Jesus declared that if you are not with Him you are against Him. In other words, you don’t have to oppose Him to be regarded as His enemy. The mere fact of your not being with Him, pitches you against Him. That means that there are no neutral grounds here.
So, if the people in your intimate circle were not given and drawn to you by God, where did they come from? The truth is: Regardless of how nice and helpful those people in your intimate circle are, if the Father did not give and draw them to you by Himself, they will eventually poison the well of your life and destiny. Furthermore, as the wiseman wrote, you would be letting “your springs overflow in the streets, your streams of water in the public squares.”
Don’t succumb to this
Of course, our consecration does not mean that we’re exempted from the weaknesses of our humanity. Like everyone else we struggle with the need to be accepted, applauded, and validated by others. We’re scared of being alone, of being rejected.
And this human tendency will often tempt you to cling to people you are not sent to; people God did not give and draw to you; people that may even be toxic to you.
If you are not careful, you may sink to the low of evaluating your self-worth on the basis of the size of your crowd and the number of people that like you.
Eventually, you may even be tempted to resort to coercive tactics to lure people into joining you. And this is not just gross, it makes you a victim of Satan’s blackmail; a victim of the worldliness virus.
And don’t squander your time
Because of the great amount of time required to cultivate and nurture solid and highly fruitful relationships, it’s extremely important to ensure that you’re committing to the right people from the onset. Otherwise, your true family becomes the opportunity cost for hanging out with the unholy crowd.
Better one person that the Father has given you, than a million others that came on their own, or in response to your own neediness and manipulative maneuvers.
And, as a reminder, this message is neither for the world, nor for worldly believers; it is strictly for the consecrated ones. If you’re one, you’ll definitely understand exactly what I’m saying. Your spirit will bear witness within you, because I’m convinced that you’ve been taught by the Father.
Use this filter
Now, who are these ones that the Father has given you—your own true family? And how do you identify them?
Your own true family—the only individuals you should allow into your most intimate circle—are God’s chosen companions for your life’s journey. They are your true brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, and friends.
To ensure that only genuine members of your true family gain access to your intimate circle , you need to employ a very important filter: God’s will for your life—that is, the specific reason God sent you into this world.
Unless you know why you were born, and the purpose God sent you here to accomplish, you will squander your earthly journey with dogs and pigs. So it is important to discover yourself; to know exactly why God sent you into this world.
And if you already know who you are—what you were sent here to do—then, use it to filter people in and out of your life. They may have passed through the same womb as you to come into this region of time and space, but if they are not called by the same God, into the same assignment as you, they are definitely not members of your true family.
If on the other hand you neither know who you are, nor why you were sent into this world, do not panic. God sent His Holy Spirit into this world to help you discover who you really are. But you must invest quality time in praying, fasting, and Holy Spirit-guided bible meditations.
To make it successfully through your earthly life time, you must simplify your life, and travel light; you must lay aside every weight and the sin that easily entangles. And you must de-clutter your relationships to make room only for all that the Father gives you.
