Regardless of how well-intentioned you are, and how nicely you you play, your so-called helpful and ‘harmless’ actions will always pose a threat to someone else.

Envy Rots The Bones
In The Sin of Envy Paralyzed Him I shared one reason I think the invalid by the pool of envy was crippled by envy. Here’s another reason:
“A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.
~ Proverbs 14:30
Bones refer to your strength and your support structure. Your bones control your mobility, standing, running – it’s a system in your body. So sin weakens your entire being.
When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, ‘Do you want to get well?’ ‘Sir’ the invalid replied, ‘I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.’ Then Jesus said to him, ‘Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.’ At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked…Later, Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, ‘See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you. ”
~John 5: 2-9, 14
Jesus pointed out that the root cause of the invalid’s paralysis was sin.
Now the bible says that envy rots the bones. When something is rotten, it becomes weak. So what it means is that envy weakens you; it weakens your whole system, ultimately crippling you. Envy demobilizes you, slows you down, and then stops you.
This is why envious people don’t make progress. They keep fighting others. And in the end, an envious man begins to fight himself. The rottenness is that he’s now eating himself up. I’ve seen many folks like that.
Envy rots the bones, it hinders movement – you can’t move, you can’t run, you can’t think straight. You’re just there wishing that the successful person will die. Get over it; he’s not going to die, because God has blessed him. You just need to get over it; your God is also their God.
I’ve found out in life that you don’t need to slow down for me to overtake you. It is important that you get this. You don’t need to slow down for me to overtake you, if it is in the plan of God for me to overtake you. So people don’t need to fail for you to make it; people don’t need to die for you to make it, there’s room for everybody. All you need to do is to discover yourself, because you have no duplicate. You are just in a class all by yourself.
Memory Verse:
Proverbs 14:30
“A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that I am unique, I am in a class all by myself. Help me to always remember this, and not give room to envy, in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
