Sustaining All Things By His Powerful Word

Hebrews 1:3 NIV
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

Sustaining all things (including you) by His powerful word. Not through your help.

So, He doesn’t need your assistance.

Quit flattering yourself!

Well, maybe except, perhaps, to stop striving and let Him do His work. And even in this, you’re even more powerless.

Now think about this really hard: If you were to drop dead this very moment (God forbid!) the world will continue to function as though you never even existed.

No one is really that important. It helps to keep this in mind as you go about your day, and confront the various demands of daily existence.

Never exaggerate your importance. That’s a very bad idea.

Romans 12:3 NLT
Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.

Notice that it’s a warning: Do not exaggerate your own importance.

Furthermore, learn to distrust those who push you in that direction; those who flatter you.

Neither you, nor I, nor any other person for that matter is that important.

So, don’t be foolish. Take a break.

If you think you can’t afford to do so, then Lucifer has trapped you with his lies.

Those that make you believe they can’t do without you won’t have any troubles replacing you when you’re no more.

You know that what I’m saying here is true. Everyone knows it’s true. But we’ll all rather prefer to go on hiding our heads in the sand, deceiving ourselves and pretending otherwise.

The hard cold truths of life are not always convenient. This is why most of us would rather avoid them. And this is why majority of us in the human family live in perpetual misery and suffering.

It takes courage to see things as they really are; not as you wish they were. It takes lots and lots of courage to break out of the pack and fly away into the sunshine.

I pray that you will receive this courage today from the Holy Spirit. Lift up your head in His name, by His grace, and breathe the fresh air of truth and liberty.

In Jesus name.

And so, to whom it may concern, take a break. Take sometime off and get some rest.
