“Let your ROOTS grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with THANKSGIVING.” ~ Colossians 2:7

Before you plant something, there are a few things you consider. One of the most important things is the type of atmosphere in which it needs to grow.

For example, in Nigeria there are a lot of banana trees. The atmosphere there is perfect for them to grow. I’ve even heard they will take over an area because they thrive so well.

Now, I live in the United States. We can barely get a banana tree to grow any place here. In fact, we have them imported into the US.

You may wonder what do bananas have to do with thanksgiving?! You see, if you want the fruit of God to flourish in your life, you must have the perfect atmosphere.

Now, the perfect atmosphere for the fruit of God to grow and thrive in you is an atmosphere of thanksgiving. Without it you will not bear fruit.

Today, pray this prayer:

Holy Spirit give me an attitude of gratitude. Help me to cultivate an atmosphere of thanksgiving.
