Strong Roots Bear Fruit: Relationships

This article is one of a 5 part series on ‘ROOTS’.

“They will take ROOT in your house, LORD God, and they will do well.” ~Psalm 92:13

Here the psalmist is saying you need strong ROOTS so that you will do well in life and be successful.

I will take the letters in ‘ROOTS’ and go through each letter teaching you a topic starting with the corresponding letter.

For example, the first letter is ‘R’. The first topic I will discuss in this ROOTS series is ‘R’elationships.

There are two relationships that are vital to the well being and success of your life:

  1. Your relationship with God.
  2. Your relationship with God’s people.

These two relationships are directly related. It says in the Bible that if we do not love the brother we can see, we can NOT love the God we do not see.

When God is checking your heart to see if you love Him, He is actually not listening to what you are saying. He is looking to see if you are walking in love with your brother.

If your relationship with your brother is not motivated by love then you will not do well. You must go after the power of the Holy Spirit to help you in this area. It’s vital to the well being and success of your life.

I’ve listed a few things that will make your relationships stronger:

  • Less expectations. (Romans 18:8)
  • Be quick to forgive. (Colossians 3:13)
  • Obey God concerning them.(Deuteronomy 5:33)
  • Cover them in love.(1 Peter 4:8)
  • Do not gossip about them, but pray for them.(Ephesians 6:18)

Today ask Holy Spirit to help you to build a stronger relationship with God and your fellow brother.  And that He will strengthen your ROOTS so that you will be very successful!
