I can tell you that tough times are ahead. There are stormy weathers up front.

But those waves of adversities also offer great opportunities for blessings, favour, and distinction for those who have built their houses on the Rock!

Matthew 7:24,25
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had it’s foundation on the rock.”

You think this world’s known trouble?
Wait till you see what’s coming!

In the meantime, you need to focus on strengthening your faith in God, and deepening your spiritual roots in Him. There’s no alternative for any who wants to survive the sword and find favour in the desert.

Jeremiah 31:2
This is what the LORD says:

“The people who survive the sword will find favour in the desert; I will come to give rest to Israel.”

I pray you are listed among those who find favour in the desert. That is, while others are groaning in despair and despondency, while all around is dryness and famine, you will be distinguished by the favour of the Lord!

The key to unlocking this favour, of course, is to please God. And without faith, it’s impossible to please God ~ Hebrews 11:6. So, your faith is the key to pleasing God. This is why you must strengthen your faith in God.

But your faith is also the key to experiencing impossibilities, for all things are possible to him that believes.

You should never toil in vain

You see, everything does not always answer to efforts. It is possible to struggle and labour in vain, that is efforts without results; which, by the way, is the plight of many today.

Unless you take the time to strengthen your faith in God and deepen your spiritual roots in Him, you’ll find yourself labouring in vain.

Psalm 127:1-2

“Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labour in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain. In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat – for he grants sleep to those he loves.”

Everyone who has tried to make things work can testify that success is not entirely a matter of efforts. Its rather more about God’s grace and favour.

You need the grace and favour of God in your life, else you’ll labour and toil in vain, and that’s not God’s plan for you. He grants sleep (rest, ease, comfort, success without stress) to those He loves!

So, there’s no need struggling in the flesh without results. You should never toil in vain; you don’t have to.

Just strengthen your faith in God and deepen your roots in Him. Let Him build your house; let Him watch over your city. And, yes, let Him give you sleep.

How to strengthen your faith in God

At this time, I challenge you to focus on developing 4 important spiritual disciplines. These spiritual disciplines are also spiritual strategies, weapons, and tools.

This is because life is essentially spiritual. The miracles and solutions that you seek do not reside in the natural realm. They reside in the spiritual realms. And when you activate them there things begin to change in the natural. It is far better to labour in the spirit and rest in the body, than to slumber in the spirit and struggle in the flesh.

I encourage you to focus on strengthening your faith by working on theses 4 spiritual disciplines for the rest of the year, and particularly over the next 3 weeks.

  1. Bible study and meditation.
  2. Praying.
  3. Fasting.
  4. Sacrificial giving.

These are spiritual disciplines. They are also spiritual strategies, weapons, and tools. We will systematically and meticulously build up ourselves in these 4 key areas over the next few weeks.

Bible Study, Meditation, Praying, and Fasting

In order to strengthen your faith in God, you must establish your heart in God’s words. You must know who you are in Him, what He expects from you, and what He has said concerning you.

Here in Nigeria, I’ve been leading our ministry leaders through a personal and in-depth study of the Epistles of the Apostle Paul:

Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews

Each day, I post the books and chapters for meditations for that day on our ministry’s online forum. As our leaders study them and meditate on them, they get insights, prophecies, and prayer points which they share on the online board. We visit the board several times in the course of the day to experience encouragement and mutual inspiration from what each person is learning from the LORD.

It’s been a tremendous building experience.

In addition, beginning from tomorrow, Monday, we’ll embark on a 14-day season of fasting and prayers. I’ve already shared this on twitter:

Our pastors and leaders here will also be gathering together at the end of each day to pray and intercede before God, as well as war in the heavenlies for the saints of God. We hope to also share revelations, prophecies, and insights received during this season.

I invite you to participate in this spiritual and faith-building exercises. I assure you that your life will never be the same.

Here’s how you can participate:

First, Bible Study and Meditation

  1. Daily here at my blog, beginning from tomorrow, I will post the books and chapters for meditations for that day.
  2. Alongside that will be the discussions and meditations on them from our ministry’s online forum board.
  3. As you study the day’s books and chapters, you should get insights, prayer points, as well as prophecies from them. I encourage you to come back again and again, as often as you can, to share what you get in the comment section at the end of that day’s post.
  4. Hopefully, as often as you visit that day, you will also be able to see insights, prayer points, and prophecies shared by others. This way we will all experience mutual encouragement and inspiration!
  5. We will continue this exercise throughout the entire  month of November!
