Learn to start your day with God. The first person that you should greet each day is the God of the universe; the Father of all fathers; the Lord of all Lords; and the King of all kings. Before you say “Good morning” to anybody, you should first say “Good morning” to God. You should listen to God first, before you listen to anybody. Before you talk to anybody else, you must talk to God first.
How you start your day matters a great deal. This is not just something I’m teaching, I actually insist that you must do that. Start your day with God. It is a spiritual instruction, not a suggestion.
The reason for this is that if you don’t start your day with your heavenly father, you will de-sync from Him. You will go out of alignment with God before you know what is happening.
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed. Simon and his companions went to look for Him, and when they found Him, they exclaimed: ‘Everyone is looking for you!’ Jesus replied, ‘Let us go somewhere else to the nearby villages so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.’”
~ Mark 1: 35 – 38
Jesus started his day with His father. His daily devotions ensured that He walked in all the will of His father while on earth. If you desire to have a successful walk with God, then imitate Him.
How you begin your day matters a lot. So, as soon as you get up in the morning, as soon as your eyes open – make sure it opens on time– start your daily devotion.
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed.”
Father, please help me to take my early morning daily devotion very seriously – I want to do your will and not be out of alignment with your plans and purposes for my life, in Jesus’ name.
