Sin comes with terrible consequences. Among the many things that sin costs you is that, it hinders the move of God in your life.
“Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. Here a great number of disabled people used to lie – the blind, the lame and the paralyzed. From time to time, an angel of the lord will come down and stir the waters. The first one to get into the pool after each disturbance will be cured with whatever disease that he had. One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, ‘Do you want to get well?’ ‘Sir’ the invalid replied, ‘I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.’ Then Jesus said to him, ‘Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.’ At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath.”
~John 5: 2-9
The turning of the water by the angel of God symbolizes the move of the Spirit of God in the man’s environment. Once the water was turned, the first person to get in got healed. However, this man could not experience the move of God in his environment because of the consequences of sin.
I see this all the time in church. A lot of folks attend powerful churches; their pastors are powerful men of God; the anointing is always present in their churches; mighty prophecies come forth; there’s powerful anointing, and powerful move of the Spirit of God; yet, their lives are not affected. They go in and out of those churches every week; they sit under those sermons and teachings; they stay in those environments of powerful anointing; and yet, their lives are never touched, year in year out. I’ve met many people like that. The mystery there is the mystery of iniquity. It’s the mystery of sin; it hinders your walk with God. It stops you from experiencing the move of God going on in your environment.
Look at Judas, for instance. Judas sat under the mightiest preacher ever known; he sat under the living God himself; the word made flesh. He sat under Jesus for three and half years, yet it didn’t touch his life, because of sin in his heart. You need to guard against these sins of the heart in your own life.
I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ by His blood, and by His Spirit will arrest any sin in your life and take it out from your life. So that when your life is assessed, sin will not be found; you will be a sinless person, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Memory Verse:
John 5: 14
“Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, ‘See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.”Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, I pray you will arrest any sin in my life by Your blood and Your Spirit. Lord, please take it out from my life. Help me to be a sinless person, in Jesus’ mighty name.
Amen.
