As a New Creation in Christ, you operate in three dimensions:
First of all, you are a spirit.
Then, you have many souls – I’m talking about the new creation in Christ. If you are a new creation, you don’t have a soul, you have a multiple soul structure. This, however, is beyond the scope of this post.
And then you live in a body.
Now, your spirit essence is sinless and can’t sin either; it is unable to sin. It is impossible for your spirit essence to sin, because that part of you is born directly from God. You are born of God; your spirit came out from God. It is the pure essence of God’s spirit.
Your soul and body, however, can sin. Actually what your body does is that it executes the agenda of sin. Your body executes the sin of the soul, so your body is the instrument. Your body can be an instrument of righteousness; or an instrument of sin.
“Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness.”
~Romans 6: 13
Sin is in the realm of the soul. It just uses the body. For instance, when you are angry with somebody, it’s your hand that is capable of slapping the person; your soul cannot slap. If you want to deceive, it’s your mouth that you use to tell lies.
What many people think is that sin is in the realm of the flesh. The physical aspect of sin is what many people are aware of. But you see, there are sins of the soul and there are sins of the flesh. And as a matter of fact, sins of the soul are more destructive than sins of the flesh. They are more dangerous; they are more poisonous than those of the flesh.
Memory Verse:
Romans 6: 13
“Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness.”Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please help me to offer the parts of my body as instruments of righteousness, in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
