One of the main attacks from the enemy is distraction. He comes with all sorts of lies. He uses people, situations and things of this present world to gnaw away at your focus.
Once he has succeeded in distracting you you will begin to make poor decisions. Those decisions will get you off course, the boundary lines begin to blur. Then you lose your way, fearfully stumbling about.
Jesus said He is The Way, so the enemy wants to distract you from Jesus.
Jesus is also revealed to us as the Word. So the enemy wants to take your focus off of what God has said and his attempts are endless. Today he uses your co-worker, tomorrow it’s your kids, the next day it’s bills and so on.
Alone we are no match for the devil and his tactics. But thank God we are not alone! We have Someone that Jesus trusts and sent to be with us, that is Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is here to help us stay focused on the Lord.
Psalms 16:8| “I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.”
This is a very easy way to gauge where your focus is: if you are anxious, worried or afraid then that is an indication that your focus is not on the Lord.
If you are at peace, rest and have joy then your focus is right on. That is a clear indication you are looking at the Lord. When He is before you, you will not be moved.
Psalm 16:9| “Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope.”
So today ask Holy Spirit to set the Lord always before you. Ask Him to help you remember and stay focused on what God has said about you and who He has said you are. He has not changed His mind.
As the Lord is set before you you will begin to see the path clearer and your heart will be filled with joy.
Psalms 16:11 NKJV| “You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
