Relax And Enjoy Yourself!

Matthew 11:29 NIV | “…Learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Do you know that apart from Jesus experience on the Cross – which He even prayed against – His life on earth was mostly pleasurable and interesting?

Once born, he was given expensive gifts of gold and essential oils by the three wise men that travelled far to come see Him. The gifts he received were very valuable then and remain so till date.

Matthew 2:11 NIV | “On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.”

When Jesus Ministry began, the first miracle He did was at a wedding; a place of celebration, where he turned water to wine which tasted so good.

John 2:9-11 NIV | “And the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.” What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory…”

And, when the feasting didn’t happen by invitation, dear Lord Jesus maximised the opportunities presented to Him for further enjoyment.

Luke 19:5-7 GNB | “When Jesus came to that place, he looked up and said to Zacchaeus, “Hurry down, Zacchaeus, because I must stay in your house today.” Zacchaeus hurried down and welcomed him with great joy. All the people who saw it started grumbling, “This man has gone as a guest to the home of a sinner!””

I know salvation came to Zacchaeus house that day, but Jesus and His disciples enjoyed the feasting too.

You see, you must reject suffering in your heart. Once you do, it will flee from your life.

It is not a sin or anti-God to enjoy yourself or have a good time. Don’t be unnecessarily uptight; forming busy all the time.

On a personal note, I was so uptight in the past but God delivered me. Today, I’m free like a bird and my perspectives has changed.

So, be set free by the Holy Spirit from the endless rat race of sweating or feeling the need to sweat before you can eat.

Chill, relax and enjoy yourself. Move into the dimension of grace and receive rest from the Lord.

Declare today: I will enjoy myself!

Then, watch and see what God will do in your life.

Bliss be with you.
