Psalm 92:10 NKJV | “But my horn you have exalted like a wild ox. I have been anointed with fresh oil.”

I love the way the Passion Translation puts this scripture. It says, “Your anointing has made me strong and mighty. You’ve empowered my life for triumph by pouring fresh oil over me.” I recently had an experience that brought this scripture to light.

Our generator refused to start after a long time of no usage. A certain part was said to be needing replacement, as a result. After a while, we thought to drain the old oil first, and refill with a fresh one, before considering replacing the part. Immediately we did, boom! The gen came on! It just needed fresh oil. Stale oil could not cut it.

It reminded me of the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Like our text says, fresh oil – the anointing – empowers us for victory. Is your life fraught with friction, roughness, and difficulty?
