Quit Trying To Fit Into The World

Worldliness has become rampant today among Christians. It’s ridiculous watching Christian folks who try to fit into the world.  You see it in their dressing, make up, speech, values and priorities. Even in church programs, we want to do shows like the world.

A lot of Christians are just trying so hard to blend in. Worldliness has become the order of the day. Really, it’s so pathetic, because try as hard as you can, you still can’t do it as good as they do it. Don’t be ridiculous; to copy the world is to be like a bat – you’re neither a bird, nor a land animal.  You don’t want to fully join the world, or go all out to become an unbeliever; at the same time, you don’t want to follow God and His laid down principles. You want to have it both ways, huh?. You want to have God, but you also want to have the world. If that describes your Christianity, just know that you’re a big buffoon. You’re just fooling yourself, because God sees you as an enemy, and He’s going to treat you like one.

“You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred towards God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.”
~James 4:4

These days, you see Christians who want to dance like the world does; they want to listen to the music of the world. You see it particularly in the western nations, and even here in Nigeria. That’s why when I go for missions to the United States, I bluntly attack this ungodly trend of worldliness on T.V. and Radio stations.

Some do everything they can to get the world to accept them. For God’s sake, stop it! Stop trying so hard to blend in. They’re never going to accept you if you are a Christian, and you should never accept them. My personal philosophy is this: “I’m never going to accept you, until you accept Jesus. We’re never going to have fellowship, until you submit your life to Jesus Christ, and be baptized in His name. The only thing I owe you is to preach to you; to show you love; but not to mingle with you.”

“‘Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing and I will receive you.’ ‘I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.’”
~2 Corinthians 6:14-18

You must stand apart. God didn’t say that you should fit in. He said you should come out. Unfortunately now, we’re trying to hide our Christianity. You hear statements like, “Tone it down; don’t be too radical.” “Don’t take it to the extreme.” “Just take it easy.” “You have to be politically correct.”

In case as a Christian, you are still hanging out with the world, the spirit of the world is in you. I pray that as you read this post, you’ll be completely delivered, in Jesus’ name.
Amen.

Memory Verse:
James 4:4
“You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred towards God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.”

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, I choose to daily stand apart from the world. Help me Lord, to steer clear of every form of friendship with the world. And strengthen me against worldliness, in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
