Mathew 3:10 NIV | “The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”
I’ve shared before about my love for National Geographic World, and the lions, particularly. One of the strange yet fascinating things I learnt about the lions is how the males usually kill cobs that they didn’t father, whenever they take up new territories. The scripture says that God’s nature is revealed in His creation. (Romans 1:20) I see this same nature in God.
God has always been about origin. He cuts down every tree not planted by Him. The good fruit He seeks is love and consequently submission to His will. (John 14:23) Anything we do by ourselves that does not originate from His will counts for nothing. (John 6:63) He considers whatever we do that’s not rooted in His word as worthless. The axe of His judgement is laid at the root of man’s every accomplishment that does not derive from Him, reducing them to nothingness.
Help us oh Lord! 🙌
