Jeremiah 29:7 NIV | “Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”
We are the light of the world and the salt of the earth. God intends to spread the fragrance of His knowledge through us. Through us, He hopes to guide, prosper, and preserve our world from all the chaos and corruption that’s going on in it. And these are only possible in the place of prayer.
Prayer is communion with God. It is the highest demonstration of humility, dependence, and in its purest form, love for God. An attack on your prayer life is an attack on your very existence as a child of God. Jesus made it clear that some issues in our lives (and cities) can only be resolved by the power of prayer.
Prayer, however, is not pleasurable to the flesh. So, Lord, cause us to take pure delight in You. Let love for You overwhelm our hearts. Baptise us with the spirit of grace and prayer!
