Focus On Receiving The Holy Spirit

Genesis 1:2-3 NIV
[2] Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. [3] And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

Before God can do anything, the Holy Spirit must be present. Before God said, “Let there be light,” the Holy Spirit was there, hovering over the waters.

What if the Holy Spirit hadn’t been there hovering over the waters? Would anything have happened? Would the word of God have been effective? The answer, of course, is no—because, the Spirit Of God is the Power Of God. Without the Spirit Of God, there can be no Power Of God. And without the Power Of God, there can be no acts of God.

To perform any act, you need power. Even as a human being, for instance, before you can do anything, you need physical energy; physical power: In order to lift weights, run, or do anything else, you need power. In the same way, before you can have the acts of God, you’ve got to have the Power Of God. Without the Power Of God, you could never have the acts of God.

But then, without the Spirit Of God, you could never have the Power Of God. Because the Power Of God is conveyed by the Holy Spirit.

In the beginning we see that the Spirit Of God was present, hovering over the waters, saturating the entire planets, saturating the entire universe, preparing the grounds for the changes and amazing things that were to happen through the word of God. Before God could do anything, His Holy Spirit had to flow, had to hover all over the earth; flowing and saturating everything.

Without the Holy Spirit, the word of God would be ineffective. We know, for instance, that Jesus Christ is the Word Of God that became flesh. But Jesus couldn’t do anything without the Holy Spirit.

You cannot have the Power Of God in your life without the Holy Spirit. You cannot have the acts of God in your life without the Holy Spirit. This is why you should focus on seeking the Holy Spirit. Because, when we have the Holy Spirit, when we become filled with the Holy Spirit, when we become possessed by the Holy Spirit, we would begin to see the power of God; and we would begin to see the acts of God in our lives.

The presence of the Holy Spirit paved the way for the word of God to change the situation of the earth. The condition of the earth at this time was terrible: It was formless; lacking beauty. It was empty; lacking substance. It was dark; lacking life. But then the Spirit Of God was there.

No matter the state of your life, if you can receive the Holy Spirit to move and flow and take charge of you, you will see the most extraordinary changes in your life. Before we can see any changes in our situation by the word of God, we must receive the Spirit Of God.

Forget about the formlessness, emptiness, and darkness of your situation. Instead, focus on receiving the Holy Spirit.
