“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
~Romans 12: 12
Being faithful in prayer has a lot of tremendous benefits. One powerful thing that happens to you when you pray and continue to pray is that you experience deep peace.
Deep peace is the absence of panic, worries, and anxieties.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.”
~ Philippians 4:6-7
No aspect of your life should be disconnected from your prayer life – that is, pray about everything. Pray about your bills; pray about your family; pray about your projects; pray about the assignments in front of you; pray about your finances; pray about your faith; in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. This is what prayer is all about.
In addition, there is something else I discovered about prayer. When I come before my heavenly Father, I don’t pretend to be a macho man. I keep it real with God. I don’t talk to people about my problems, but when I come before my God, I tell him everything. Likewise, you should do the same. When you come before God, there is no point keeping up the pretense. Bare it all before Him, and experience the peace that only He can give you.
Memory Verse:
Philippians 4:6-7
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.”
Prayer:
Thank you heavenly Father that I can talk to you about all my concerns. I commit every aspect of my life into your hands, in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
