Plantings Of God’s Purpose

Mark 11:13 NIV | “The next day, as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs.”

Jesus was hungry. He saw a promising fig-tree from afar and hoped to eat fruits from it, but alas, His purpose was twarted. The tree had no fruits on it. Even though it was not time for figs, He cursed the tree, nevertheless. He didn’t rationalise its failure to produce. His agenda at that point was just not met.

Never rationalise the flesh. Don’t give room for compromise. We are trees of righteousness; plantings of God’s purpose. We are planted to bear fruits of love; we are planted for the purpose of submission and obedience to God’s will. (John 7:21,23)

Receive the grace and wisdom to discern and detach from whatsoever does not enable your love, submission, and ultimately conformity to Christ. That’s your purpose. That should be your agenda. Bliss be with you! 
