Overflow With New Wine!

Proverbs 3:10 (NKJV)
“Honour the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruit of all your increase; so shall your barns be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.”

New wine is produced from freshly pressed, crushed, and squeezed grapes. It is wine that has been produced under pressure. The grapes come through the winepress, where they have been trodden on foot.

God wants our lives to overflow with new wine. And we saw yesterday that new wine is symbolic of the Holy Spirit. So, God wants our lives to overflow with His Spirit – the  treasure of heaven.

To  overflow and enjoy the abundance of God’s realities for you, your life may come under some kind of pressure or difficulty. The children of Israel had to contend with giants in other to enter their promised land. The scriptures tell us that Jesus was made perfect through suffering.

It could be that you’re experiencing some kind of pressure or undergoing some type of suffering at the moment. You might be feeling pressed, and squeezed by the circumstances of life. Like those grapes that are crushed, trodden upon, and eventually turned into sweet and delightful wine; your momentary troubles and trials are preparing you for a life of honour and glory. They would be turned into mind-boggling testimonies.

Remember the miraculous new wine at the wedding in Cana of Galilee? The master of the ceremony and the servants were amazed. Similarly, so will many be dazed by the uncommon manifestation of the Holy Spirit in your life.

The new wine season is a season of harvest and miracles. It is our season of outpouring and overflow. New wine however, needs new wineskin. The wineskin to hold this overflow is Honour. Honour to God. Our bible verse today tells us that honour to God is what release the overflow.

Jesus honoured God (through John the Baptist), and the heaven over Him was opened. Paul honoured Peter and his ministry door opened up. Lack of honour causes closed heavens. God promises to honour those that honour Him.

The cup overflows because there is a submitted head. Honour to God can be reflected in the way we handle the things that have to do with Him: His word, people, money, time, property, service, and so on.

Do you long to honour God with everything that is within you? Do you desire for your life to overflow with new wine? Then let us pray:

Lord, help me to honour You. Remove every form of familiarity and dishonour to you, from me. Help me to see You as You really are. Cause my life to overflow with new wine. Amen!
