Acts 3:15 NIV
You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.
Jesus Christ is the Author of Life. He wrote life’s script. He designed its principles and dynamics. And, consequently, more than anyone else, He knows exactly what matters and what does not.
So, pay careful attention to Him in the following verses.
Luke 10:41-42 NIV
[41] “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, [42] but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
According to the Author of life, only one thing is needed.
If the Author of Life says so, then it is so. He made life. He designed it. So He knows exactly what is needed and what is not.
And if He says only one thing is needed, then I want to find out what that one thing is and focus absolutely on it.
So, what is this one thing that is needed?
He tells us in the following statement:
“Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
While Martha was hustling and bustling in the rat race, Mary stayed focused on the Lord, listening to Him and learning from Him.
So, the one thing that is needed —the only thing you need to do in this life—is to stay focused on the Lord, listening to Him and learning from Him.
This is life. This is joy and peace. This is contentment and great gain. This is bliss.
