One with God

You are one with God. This is essentially true; but are you consciously aware of it yet? And are all your expressions flowing from this place of oneness and consciousness?

“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?”
~
1 Corinthians 3:16

Just ponder on this: You are God’s temple and God’s Spirit lives in you. Now, that’s deep; very deep. It’s hard to frame this mystery into words, but I’m going to give it my best shot.

For starters, the Holy Spirit is your core. Wrap that around your mind while I figure out how to continue.

The Holy Spirit lives in you

The Holy Spirit — Who is not just from God, but also God — lives in you. In other words, your core is made up of the same Spirit or essence that constitutes God.

You are not God Himself, and you are not equal to Him; but you are a god, and you are one with Him. You are a unique offspring, or expression of God. Deep in your soul is a spiritual core that is one with God. You are a divine being.

The Holy Spirit lives in you. He is your real essence.

He is you

Lets now take this a little further: He is you. Definitely not all can accept that; but if you can, do. Here’s some help from what Jesus taught us about Him:

“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever…”
~John 14:16

First, Jesus taught that the Holy Spirit will be with you forever, that is, He will be your companion – an ever present one for that matter. However, that was never going to be His ultimate relationship with you. He was never going to just be with you, your companion, He will also be in you, that is, your essence.

“…the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”
~John 14:17

‘in’ used by Jesus Christ is so much more than the sense of ‘pouring’ something into another. It is more like making something from another. It is more than one person going into a city, and more like the city coming out of the person. The Holy Spirit is in you in the same sense that the clay is in the ceramics Jar. Jesus is saying that first the Counselor will be your companion (with you); then you will emanate from Him – He will eventually become the very essence of your being.

And when Paul taught that ‘God’s Spirit lives in you’, that means Jesus’ promise has come to pass. The Holy Spirit has now become the very essence of your being. He lives in you; He is you.

It’s just amazing.

You know all things

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”
~Ecclesiastes 3:11

Note my emphasis: He has also set eternity in the hearts of men. The Wiseman describes your spiritual core as ‘eternity’; He notes that God has set it in your heart. In the original language, the word translated eternity here literally means ‘outside time’. Another way to look at it is ‘beyond time’ or better still, ‘unhindered by time’. The deeper meaning of it is this: Awareness of everything that has happened in eternity past, everything that is happening now, and everything that is yet to happen in the eternal future!

It means that you already possess all knowledge. You already know everything there is to know within you.

“But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.”
~1 John 2:20

Observe that the same phrase ‘you know all things’ was used in reference to Jesus Himself:

“Now we can see that you know all things and that you do not even need to have anyone ask you questions. This makes us believe that you came from God.”
~ John 16:30

In the same manner that Jesus Christ possessed all knowledge within Himself in His oneness with the Spirit, so do you today. This is perfectly in line with what you would expect if the Holy Spirit were your essence. He is the Spirit of wisdom and knowledge. He is omniscient. And if He is your essence, if He is you, then you possess all knowledge; you know all things.

You understand that this ‘all knowledge’ flows from Him.

“As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit –just as it has taught you, remain in him.”
~1 John 2:27

The more I think of it, the more I see that it’s beyond mere awareness. You are looking at something more profound: oneness; you are one with God. You have the same capacity as God.

Are you authentic?

Now, it is one thing to be essentially one with God. It is another matter entirely to be consciously one with Him. You are essentially one with Him; but, has this oneness become a conscious awareness?

Whether or not you possess a crystal clear consciousness of being one with God matters a great deal.

Personally, and quite hard to explain, I always feel this deep within me as an inexpressible feeling of bliss. I sense an inner oneness with God that is much more than mere connection or relationship. I can only say at such times that I’m at peace with God.

This inner peace happens when your consciousness is perfectly integrated with your essentialness, and actually stems from it; when you know who you are. This is integrity. And integrity is essential to authenticity. It means that you are fully aware of your oneness with your Source. You understand that you are divine. You are deeply aware of His unwavering love and you accept this unquestioningly.

From the innermost depths of your spiritual core, from a place of this deep inner peace with God, also comes clarity regarding what He sent you here to do. I know without any shadow of doubt that I’m sent into this world on a divine mission; but I also believe with all my heart that it’s true about you. You are a unique expression of God and thus on a special divine mission.

And when all your actions, relationships, and so on, are in perfect alignment with your inner consciousness of your oneness with your God, you can be said to be whole, to be a person of integrity. Then you could be described as an authentic being. Otherwise, you are yet fragmented, needing to be made whole.

When your entire earthly activities – by this I also mean what you say – are in perfect alignment with your innermost spiritual core, you will inspire the kind of confidence in others that empowers them to trust you and cooperate with you. Sometimes, people can’t explain it; they just say stuff like, “you are real.” That’s authenticity.

Realizing your own wholeness

I won’t fail to tell you that it is your personal responsibility to discover yourself and bring every single expression of mind and body into complete congruency with that true vision of your innermost being; thus realizing your own wholeness.

And the simple fact is that this demands generous investment of your time.

Do you value your oneness with God enough to do all you can to realize it in your consciousness?

I think that most people are really too busy to care. They are going through the motions of living, trying to survive. It’s tragic, but that’s the way things are. Then they wonder why they are so stressed, why nothing seems to be working, why they are so desperate and frustrated.

Your life is measured in time; so, time is life’s ultimate treasure. Learn to withdraw regularly to connect with your inner core; to listen – yes, listen – to God.

Listen to learn: What do you really want? What divine agenda were you uniquely designed and manifested on earth to execute? You are much more than a bunch of gifts and talents; you are a message. Do you know what that message is?

God’s voice within brings clarity and calmness. Then, it instils confidence, which generates the passion and energy that drives both your imaginations and actions. At this point, you can truly be said to be ‘submitted to God.’ Then, you wouldn’t need to chase after anything; everything just responds to your commands and signals.

“Submit to God and be at peace with Him; in this way prosperity will come to you.”
~Job 22:21

Keep smiling…
