I enjoy a rich and rewarding walk with the Holy Spirit; He teaches me amazing revelations from the scriptures. In this post, I will be sharing an insight the Holy Spirit showed me on divine purpose and family. You will do well to pay attention.
“Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: ‘Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased. Then I said, ‘Here I am-it is written about me in the scroll- I have come to do your will, O God.’”
~ Hebrews 10: 5-7
Jesus, God’s first begotten son, came into this world for a purpose. He entered into this region of time and space on an assignment given to him by the Father. In the bible passage above, Jesus mentioned something given to Him by the Father to assist Him in fulfilling His mission on earth – a body you prepared for me.
The body of Christ as we know is the church. In the above verse, Jesus Christ talked about his body – not just the physical body that he had to sacrifice on the cross but also the spiritual body that we have become a part of today – the body of Christ. This body was prepared for Jesus to enable Him fulfill His God-given assignment; a body you prepared for me… I have come to do your will. And Jesus referred to this body as family.
“While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. Someone told him, ‘Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.’ He replied to him, ‘Who is my mother, and who are my brothers? Pointing to His disciples, he said, ‘Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.
~Matthew12:46-50
Let me tell you this: every human being born into this world came on an assignment. Nobody’s birth is an accident, no matter how the person was born. You are not an accident; your birth was not a mistake. There is a divine purpose behind your existence on earth. It’s your duty to find out what it is and align yourself accordingly. God has made you family for someone and has also given other people as family to you, but you must first discover your divine assignment.
